매우 드물고 확실한 진단이 쉽지 않다. 

                      연구 보고에 따르면 전경골건 부착부 양상은 5가지로 분류되는데, 설형골부착부건과 제1중족골부착부건의 크기가

                      비슷한 type I(사진 8), 설형골 부착부 건이 더   큰 type II(사진 9) , 제1중족골 부착부 건이 더 큰 type III(사진 10),

                      제1중족골건이 2개인 type IV(사진 11), 하나의 설형골 부착부 건만 존재하는 type V(사진 12)로 구분되는데

                      사체 연구에서는  type V가 32%로 가장 많았고 초음파검사에서는 type II가 35%로 가장 많았다고 보고하였다.               

                     발 내측부, 중족근관절부 보다 근위부에 증상을 호소하는 경우 전경골건 부착부 병변 가능성을 인지하고 적절하게 

                     초음파검사를 시행하면 전경골건의 설형골 또는 주족골 부착부 병변(파열 또는 건초염)을 정확히 진단할 수 있고

                     적절한 치료를 시행할 수 있다.
